cleaning 2c39's?
gm4plm <simon@...>
Question - are 2C39's dishwasher proof??
I saw someone sometime ago mention that the best way to clean these tubes was running them through the dishwasher a couple of time (might even have been N6CA?) is it safe! I have a pair needing cleaned up! regards Simon GM4PLM |

Hi Simon
I read that too and tried it - not a success. The dirty bits were still dirty and the anode fins corroded. 73 de David GM4WLL At 20:28 27/09/02, you wrote: Question - are 2C39's dishwasher proof??

Evening Simon,
The XYL does mine along with the Waterford Crystal when required. Placed in the
rack bases down and allowed to dry naturally with the dishwasher door slightly
ajar. They have all survived but I do mark them with a Black permanent ink pen
on the anodes to keep a check on the rough hours run and in which amp. Some of
the old STC ones are nearly 20yrs old and still going strong.
Regards
Ted

OK well I will have a go - the metal work on them is grimey and the
only time I have seen this is with cig. smoke. sort of yellow tarnishing I will try - if the anodes get corodded thats no big deal as they are getting water cooled anyway! thanks Ted! welcome to the group BTW regards Simon --- In ukmicrowaves@y..., "Ted Agar" <tedagar@b...> wrote: Evening Simon,Waterford Crystal when required.
