Re: 70 Watt amplifier kit for 23cms coming soon

It's ironic that a switch mode PSU from 12V for 2C39 amps would have been quite a straightforward project.   With only one high voltage to generate at 100 Watts or so, grid bias applied to the cathode derived from the 12V, as well as the heater, and that's all.  No complicated screens, protection, negative supplies all interlocked   AT one point, yonks ago, I had the high voltage supply, near enough to that anyway, built; but that was for another reason altogether.

Re: KST Question

You can log in yo KST2Me with different parameters set by appending a digit when you call up the programme.   From a command line it would look like this :   KST2Me 2.

You can create a new start icon i n Windows by copy / pasting the old one then editing the properties to     "~~~~~KST2M.exe 2"
All is decribed in the .PDF manual accessible via the Help-Manuals button.

Re: one way QSOs - entry

I did enquire a few years ago when we first started using the software for UKuG events, but it is rather a niche requirement and with the limited number of contacts involved, not difficult for me to handle manually. Adjudicating rover operation from multiple locations is a great deal more involved, but I digress.

Re: KST Question

Andy G4JNT

Not true. You have to activate each callsign separately on the KST main site.   We're talking about KST itself here, not the KST2Me software package written by Bo.
Earlier today when trying it wouldn't allow G4JNT/P Into KST (and obv. not when using KST2Me) until I'd registered the callsign.
Then again, it won't let G8IMR/P in whereas both G4JNT and G8IMR without suffixes were OK

Separate problem is with KST now,  earlier I managed to register 'JNT/P and get an activation key and enter it so that callsign is OK now.   But after getting the activation key for 'IMR/P there is no 'activate now' link showing on the login page, so can't enter the hex code.

KST2Me has quite separate keys that are just based on the base callsign,   but it still won't let you connect unless both versions are registered with the KST main site.

Remember KST2Me is only an interface for KST itself - the fact it requires its own key is just a quirk of the writer .   It's perfectly feasible for anyone to write a bit of software that talks to and receives from the KST site and decode/intercept / to do just what you want.  But the callsign to be used, in its entirety, must have been pre-registered with KST

The actually communication with KST main is just a couple of lines of code
In PowerBasic its :

TCP OPEN PORT 23000 AT "www.on4kst.info" AS #1
SLEEP (200)      '200ms wait for any response from server
    TCP PRINT #1, Username$
    SLEEP (200)
    TCP PRINT #1, Password$
    SLEEP (200)
    TCP PRINT #1, "3"       '3 = Microwave Chat
    PRINT

and after that you just listen to and print to the port  as if it were a file

eg.     TCP PRINT #1, outtext$
and    TCP LINE INPUT #1, intext$
and manipulate the strings as you want.

As above, 2 different logins for ON4KST and 1 key for KST2ME
I found it easier to login to ON4KST with the call I wanted to use, then in KST2ME there is an option to "choose login details from chat", (or something along those lines)

Edit: I just looked at the instructions I wrote for myself. You can click "Show my chat call" in the setup
