Thanks for the sage advice, rather than a generator presumably these PE1RKI linears 28v PA's will work ok
with 2 x leisure batteries in series at say, 25 dropping to 24v after a while. Less o/p than

Well what a day many thanks to Alan giving up time in his vacation to provide signals into the south coast. Signals were better than expected as we at Lane end really were skirting through the hills

Re: 23cms PA
Another option is to build your own. I've just built one of the DF9IC design 1296 PAs using professionally-made boards direct from Henning at 15 euro a set including postage. They have 2 x MRFE6S9160

I too use the sg labs transverter .. it is excellent particularly if youseparate the transmit and receive inputs (no noisy pin diodes) The output isonly 2W and 3.5 needed to drive the 250W P.A.
Hope

Were going to build one of Berts amps with a sg labs transverter into a Masthead box, so it's short run to antennas, with a 144mhz IF into the transverter, Have thought about changing links and use

The voltage drop and more importantly the probability of noiseinduced in the cables in a high RF environment make this quite difficultto do with simple analogue indications .

Power Sense o/p and masthead SSPA's
Does anyone bother to bring the circa 1volt power sense output from a masthead SSPA back into the shack.
