I can go portable on a number of sites on the west Dorset coast with excellent take offs towards Brittany. Can go out most afternoons and evenings given a few hours warning.

GE All Hope to be QRV on 24 and 76 GHz on Sunday, from usual QTH - Brown Clee IO82QL.
24 Ghz gear is a complete rebuild - so looking for a 'first' with it.

OpenDNS is perhaps a better option than Google DNS, but the principle is the same. The link below is very comprehensive.
If you can amend your own PC settings, just set the DNS server

Hi Alan,
That’s exactly the effect I had and is, as Murray comments, probably due to the BT DNS servers taking a very long time to find the Yahoo Ad and image servers – try changing the DNS on

Re: Yahoo group web site very slow?
Same problem with Virgin Media ISP, same fix, set DNS to 8.8.8.8
Just exactly what am I doing when I set my DNS to do this?
I think I'm looking for an explanation of DNS here!

Hi – thanks for the heads up that it might be DNS related – I’ve changed the DNS on this PC to Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and the problem is cured – it took over 2 minutes to load the files area
