Oops wrong button. Should said direct path. So coupling into the duct over North Sea much less loss than direct shorter path up the coast.

Hi Chris & Pete
As you may have gathered I saw that clip and sent it in a bit of a rush as I saw the NGR ref, but it kept the conversation flowing!
Yet to be in the right place & time to work EA8 on

Re: Equipment issues
GB3MHz on 1296.830MHz is not audible here also tonight after I luffed my mast during the last week.
However G8MBU, GB3FM and GB3DUN are all chugging along as normal , so maybe its not your kit

Equipment issues
I am not hearing any of the Martlesham becaons today so I fear my masthead system got water in it while if was luffed over for the storms. Might be a while until I can fix it.

10GHz World Record
The cut from the 1974 4-2-70 you posted refers to a UK 10GHz record made in (on a LOS path) in 1974. The GM3OXX/P - G4BRS/P World record QSO was made later by surface ducting above the Irish Sea, and

Re: 10GHz World Record
Not sure if this will work but August 1973 Radcom reported OXX QSO with NGR. Saw this by chance as it had been kept as part of GB3PI records!
Hopefully attachment for interest works.

First 2300Mhz QSO
Hi
I used my new 2300Mhz NoV for my first QSO with Pete, G4HQX/P.
The path was between Wenallt Hill, Cardiff and Coaley Peak, Gloucestershire.
Equipment at both ends was DB6NT G2 transverters

Re: WG20 Round flange
Hello John
There are at least 4 stations semi-local to you who would enjoy 24GHz tests at any time:
Namely G3UKV, G8UGL, GW4DGU and G4CBW. Also G3PHO a bit further over.

Mark and Chris
Thanks both for your informative replies, I may well make a start on my 24 Ghz system this year and will no doubt be back to ask more questions about it!
Whilst I'm on - has anyone
