out too. Dave G1EHF reports that GB3FNM went off last Thursday.

The little noise genny from China (where else? but at least they deliver) has arrived and an initial try through my 9Cm filter gives a nice steep sided response.
It was interesting to see the shape change as I adjusted one of the screws, much easier when you can see the signal, hi.
Really need to get a better speccy though, missed a 3.8Ghz one that went for less than £500 and one up to 8Ghz gets no reply to a question from the seller, go figure.
I just need to box it up and make it easier to use, save dropping anything on it while it's on, and then I can give the filter a tweak.
Finally received it after a week of no post, their are all self isolating here apparently.
Will be on 10Ghz tomorrow, had a nice qso with G4ODA earlier today, thanks Keith.

Can anyone confirm if GB3FNM is transmitting on 2320.920 MHz? If it is then I need to go home and troubleshoot because I can't hear it on a line of sigh path. 73 Simon G0FCU.

The bulk buy order to RF Microwave has now been placed. Once I have received the parts and repacked for onward UK shipment ( Royal Mail ) I will send individual e-mails those who have placed firm orders with me to advise them of the final cost and payment details. Hello Mike,
Thank you for revealing yourself... Mark said you were in the Huddersfield area though QRZ suggests otherwise.
I don’t have 3cm up often however it isn’t too long a job to swap antennas as I reminded myself this afternoon. Drop me a line if you would like a test though others are also QRV, G4DBN and G3YJR etc.

10 GHz experiments this evening
Neil Smith G4DBN
Things seemed a bit flat on 3cm this evening to the south and west, but after some co-ordination via Zello SHF Chat, I had an SSB contact with Adrian G4UVZ at 342 km in IO80 and a solid CW contact with Clive GW4MBS from his home location in IO71 at 288 km over a hugely unpromising path on 10 GHz.
I had a sniff of a signal from DB0GHZ an hour ago, but the only signal now is ON0VHF, about S3 from JO20HP. Nothing from any other EU beacons. Thanks to Adrian and Clive for the tests, very pleased to make those contacts. I guess Clive could have made it at 12 dB lower signal using Q65. The signals were very stable and just had the usual scintillation of troposcatter. Neil G4DBN

Gents,
Thanks are also due from me, for it is me that the 3cms loan system from Mark is destined for! And, of course, thanks to Mark! I'm looking forward to giving it a go and will be making the short trip to Ilkley Moor once I've got the system all together to listen for some beacons and get used to it. Hopefully it won't be too long before I'm arranging to go up there with the intention of having a qso... Cheers, Mike, G7AQA

Re: KST or Zello ?
Neil Smith G4DBN
I find Zello is most useful for talkback rather than asking for sked attempts, mainly because I use a headset and use Zello on my phone most of the time. It is good outside of contests when my pocket starts talking and I get to hear about some juicy propagation while I'm away from the radio. If I remember, I fire up the Zello app on my logging PC during contests, which makes it a bit easier. The Windows version seems to work pretty well, but I have some amusing issues with audio input devices on my radio PC that cause some challenges. Works fine on my laptop though.
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
I hope to have it sorted soon by using a mixer on my headset and a separate microphone input for Zello. KST is still the best tool for my way of working, I get so much other intel from it by watching what others are up to. I need a sked queue facility though, and a better way to integrate the multiple-path aircraft scatter alerts from Airscout. Just remember that you can flip into person-to-person mode on Zello so you don't bung up the shared channel if you are doing detailed adjustments and fiddling. I usually forget to flip back, but it is neighbourly to leave the main chat free if you are using it for classical talkback. Another good tip is that in UKuG contests, you can use Zello as the return channel for one-way contacts if you can hear the other op but they can't hear you, and both claim half points, so long as all exchanges from them are solely over the radio. I don't know if I'll be able to get on for the contest, but I'll be on KST and Zello if I do get on the air. Neil G4DBN

typical. I could have sworn I'd already used Zello.
Not on my tablet. Went to download it, you guessed it, "this will not run on your version of android"
So, I have to buy a new table just because my perfectly fine older one is not compat with the latest software.
Dont you just love technology?
So, KST it will have to be, though based on last week that might not be any use either.
I think I'll stick with calling CQ.

The fun starts on Sunday seeing how it works in practice with lots of people about & "meep, meep" also popping up around my ears. At least it looks as if there is an "engaged" button on Zello, which might help reassure people that they are not just being ignored! -- Clive GW4MBS (ex-G8ADP) Pottering on 6m - 3cm in a valley in IO71XW where any QSO is a triumph of optimism over geography!

Re: KST or Zello ?
Colin G4EML
I have just checked Zello SHFChat and there is no-one waiting to be authorised. You have to have Zello running and be connected to the Chat before you show up on the ‘untrusted users’ list. I can then authorise you. It is possible to make the group open to all which would remove the need for authorisation. But there is then the risk of non amateur users appearing. Anyone that needs authorisation please leave Zello running this afternoon / evening and I will do it. I normally check a few times per week and just before a contest. On the subject of Zello, if anyone else wants to volunteer to be an administrator of the group I can add you to the list. At the moment it is just me and Denis G0OLX. Colin G4EML
