Hi,
just look for these ANAREN 1H0566-3. They are good for 100W from 2-4GHz. 73, Rainer Am 06.12.2020 um 11:09 schrieb Colin Ranson:

Its the only 23cm beacon I can hear normally! Considering I am off the back of the dish ...

Stuart, Hi,
I have a few of these for 2.3-2.7GHz, same manufacturer, but I did not think they would handle high power...... up to 70W as the ones you list.
Thanks for the attention
Regards
Colin.

Could you use one of the surface mount type couplers such as Anaran XC3500M or similar higher power unit.

GB3USK is indeed off at the moment, don't panic! It is solar powered. The combination of short days, 8/8 cloud and reduced battery capacity at low temperatures means the months of December and January are difficult. It will re-appear from time to time during this period, but rather unreliable.
Good to know it's useful when it's on though! It was a good signal on the Gerbrandy websdr last Sunday. 73 Graham

What would be involved in making a suitable PCB? or am I looking at the wrong item entirely? regards.............Stuart

Indeed, you only have to look at any Ham design combining multiple PA modules to see that! Why reinvent the wheel?
For mine, I calculated the line dimensions and modelled it with QUCS (free software), then I EM Modelled it in the box with Sonnet lite (free software) Drew the final PCB dimensions from Sonnet in to Eagle 5 (free software) Laser printed two of them on Press N peel on a free sample of Rogers board from the Rodgers website Both worked first time! Charlie G3WDG did a design for a 6cm hybrid as well but clearly tolerances get tighter the higher you go. Doing that so easily at 10GHz might be a bigger challenge but there are plenty of designs around for that band and even some for for 24GHz using microstrip hybrids! Finally If anyone comes across an Ionica output combiner (look on my website under projects) http://www.g4bao.com/page4.htm I show how you can easily hack the 3.5GHz hybrid down on to 3.4GHz with some Kapton tape. 73 John

Neil I think you are a little cautious about proper SMA connectors at the 100W level. I and quite a few others use ILAM amps for 13cm EME that run close to 250W through one, and the output microstrip hybrid for my 2x40W PA at 9cm uses them.
No issues with them failing yet. See https://www.electronics-notes.com/articles/electronic_components/rf-connectors/sma-connector.php Unlike my cheap Chinese directional coupler with N connectors on it that burned out at 300W on 23cm! 73 John

Hi John, I shall register ... I always assumed it was the same info as https://www.microwavers.org/maps/23cms.htm as they looked similar.

You can take a look at beaconspot.uk. Plenty of info on all the beacons everywhere. If a beacon has an outage, there is a facility for the beacon-keeper to insert relevant details. It’s also really useful for those beacons that are not frequency locked because you can see the official frequency plus where they have wandered to at the most recent spot.

Ta, noted. I'm going to assume it was just off then and I don't have to panic about my receiver.

Had my transverter for some time. The Post Office tracker never did pick up on it, it just arrived a few days after arriving in the UK. Is anyone else in the South-West coming on 3.4GHz so I can work more than 1 station?
Only bothered with the transverter so far, if there is some activity I will look at options for a PA.

Good direction for me Ed so should be ok for a qso. Ben G4BXD

Why's that Ben?
Howard G4CCH Ah, beaten to it by the other "Ben's" Howard.
Yes, infamous day. Yet it only took them 6 month or so to get most of the ships back into service.
Just been watching some youtube about it, amazing, "sleeping tiger" and all that. (another PH/Jap reference, sorry.)
