Hi Andy,

I use a Meanwell switching power supply from, I think, Farnell without  any issues.  For a sequencer the W6pql unit available from a number of sources works well or an an alternative the relay based unit from the VHF DX Book.

Hope to see you on Friday 73

Thanks for your advice folks Andy GD1MIP.

Re: 23cm amp. Looking for suggestions of built / ready to run units.

Stephen Tompsett

Consider the option of using a separate feeder for RX, powering the preamp and mast head relay via the RX feeder. This will minimise the loss on TX (no output relay needed in the power amp, and no bias tee in the TX feeder. A dB or so loss in the low power bias-tee in the RX feed is probably insignificant.

Or depending on your amplifier switching, put the bias tee on the input side of the amplifier, or in the amplifier bypass leg of the switching...

Ok, stupid me.

Yes, can see that now. I 'thought' that was the standard saving, minos etc, but forgot I'd gone to the export click.

Oh dear, the onset begins................

It's the one highlighted. Reg1Test writes an EDI file.

Did you look at the documentation? Pages 28 and 29 explain the formats that can be imported and exported.

Ben..

The default setting "Reg 1 Test entry" will create you and .EDI file which then can be uploaded to the RSGB entry page to submit an entry forr the contest.

Drum Hill 6cms beacon on .870

John-G8ACE

I think I have the 6cm Beacon in Winchester at EME strength. It appears to be A1 keyed.
Yarwho rejects my beacon email so posting reception here.
Perhaps those that know would confirm keying which will clinch it as frequency is correct dish and heading looks right.
I have made a screen grab and must have done it during key up, as you do, as the carrier is missing in the bottom window of HDSDR

What software for making a .log entry?

I tried Minos Contest Logger, it makes .minos or .adi files

Can I convert either to .log??

Ben.

Hi Dave  Thank you for pointing this gentlemen out he not only has 23 cm amps but also  13 Cm amps

One thing is if any one is going for a power amp for 23 Cm it should also works  OK to  1325 mhz

We have the band and we should use it

Andy

Look at Jim's W6PQL site

He has a good range and reputation , kits , assembled pa boards and control boards and built gear

Not used his gear myself but lots of others have with positive comments ( and I have no connection to Jim )

Key on all LDMOS amps is

1) don't overdrive

2) as above

3) as above

I am looking to up my RF power on 23cm.

I have a radio output of 0.5 - 10 watts for drive, it'll be used for SSB,  CW  & data. Ideally I want at least 50 watts, but much more would be great.

I know there are Gemini ones, but I can't afford them new. Also I've emailed Bert PE1RKI & VHF design to see what's on offer.

So, are there any other companies selling ready to run 23cm linear amplifiers that cost less than a Gemini? Or do you know someone selling one?

Thanks Andy GD1MIP

PS I will be at Newark on Friday so can hope.
