Good luck with That Andy.

Indeed same on my TS-2000x, I press FUNC AGC/OFF and AGC is switched off just like on all the other bands.

Found a few more issues wirth the 2000X and decided to do a 'master reset'
This cured the problems.
This is the first time I have had to do a master reset.
Have had two TS-2000's now for many years and pretty much problem free.

It is certainly switchable on 23cm with my 2000X in ssb, not sure if it works in other modes though.

Re: 10GHz tests

GM6VXB

Just shutdown and doing a few checks, but it looks ok for temperature rise on transmit
and the pressurised air system only started once so looks a bit too air tight. Have to do
some work on the pressure regulator but simple.
Also got to run a coax for the 10MHz reference. During tests had the GPSDO hanging on
the side of the box.

Not going to put the system up semi permanently until at least mid May as we still get
some strong winds here and do not want to overstress the antenna and mast too much.

Mark, unfortunately my path to the south is not too good. Rising ground for the first 2Km
from the house, after that fairly clear until I hit the hills south of Aberdeen. But like all things
'you got to try to know'

Hi Martin
Just home
Good chance that we will be able to work on troposcatter so long as your local take off is OK in my direction.   Other than that RS will go for sure.
Mike Willis’s path profiler says path loss between us is 249 dB (troposcatter)
In 300Hz bw (easy CW  the path loss capability from your station  to my RX is  about 250dB) JT modes should be a doddle

The other way round, my 50W and your better nf should give about 8dB S-N in 300Hz

I have found Mike’s software troposcatter predictions pretty good, recently i worked GW4CBW/P easily on CW with similar margins to predicted.
Alan GM0USI goes portable all over GM, Similar set-up to you,  similar path losses and pretty near 100% QSO success rate with me.

Please let me know if you want a test at any time, If I'm home I can be QRV

Just for info, I will be doing some 'heat' tests on my 10GHz remote transverter today.
Probably running on 10.368.170 with JT9G mode in 30 second periods.
Just wanting to check that the transmit side does not get too hot (70C) during extended
transmit cycles.
If testing proves good I will be putting the system up on the mast soon.
Bit QRP but 10 Watt to an 80cm dish, 0.5dB NF on receive.

It would be worthwhile me going out to the Lammermuirs once you are operational. The beacon at FFX is a stonking signal there. Also can access a good location here in Edinburgh.

Parabolic dish reflector wanted

Chris G0FDZ

Hi folks

Does anyone have a solid parabolic reflector of about 250 to 300 mm in diameter in good condition that they no longer need?  I am looking to make a millimetre wave antenna and I have the materials to make the feed in a similar way to the now defunct Procom range. If you may be able to help please contact me off reflector.

Thanks and regards

It has a new MOT as of yesterday.

It's excellent for portable operation/contesting, so it would be a shame if it didn't get further use in this community.
