Tropo?
John Fell
Not actually uwave but maybe indicative of things ? GB3WGI- the transatlantic beacon is a solid signal , peaking at 559 at the moment with good JT65B decodes .This is the strongest I have seen since it came on and oddly it peaks today at 35 degrees South of its normal true bearing and can be seen due West from here .
Not bad for a beacon pointing towards the US from NI ..... 73 John G0API

Hi Alan Got the 9cm dish & feeder on the mast this weekend. Will follow activity as and when time permits, and maybe a QSO, IO76 to IO82 ? 73 Martyn G3UKV

Oncore GPS
David <david.g6feo@...>
Some years ago I bought a Motorola Oncore GPS unit at RAL.
I've lost the CD that came with it. Can anybody help me with the pinouts of the RJ45 connector on the Oncore Interface board made by Computer Cab Co Ltd. I presume the power input to this board is 12volt DC. Thank you, David. G6FEO.

Hi Alan I will be about on Sunday. I will be keeping an eye on conditions. I know my location isn't great in your direction, but conditions may help. It was good to work you on 23cm in the UKAC with my 3.5W. Conditions to the South were really bad. 73 Bob G8DTF

Re: Power Amps 23cm
Dave <dave@...>
I too have a 150W PA from Bert and can confirm that
he produces very good equipment.
However, this is not a 'plug and play'
option. As has been said, you still have to add some other bits and
pieces. I went for the option with the heat sink and fan, but you will
need changeover relays and to wire up the unit. You will need to think
about switching as well.
I hard wired the bias voltage, as I did not want to
risk any chance of applying RF power and voltage to the main terminals without
the bias on. I am also in the process of wiring up relays to operate the
coaxial relays as the manual option is fraught with the danger of not switching
things on in the correct order.
I've also wired up a resistor to drop the speed of
the fan when not in transmit mode as it is quite loud and interferes with
hearing the audio from the rig. However, I didn't want the fan to switch
off completely as I wanted some air flow through the heatsink all of the
time.
Cheers - Dave (G0DJA)

BSB Antennae
GM At the beginning of September, I sent out this msg - and someone replied 'yes please' - but I can't track down their reply or remember who it was! I shall be at the RSGB Hamfest next Friday (Sept 27), so please contact me (off reflector) to make arrangements. FREE TO GOOD HOME Pair of flat ex-BSB aerials, 16" square, with mounting brackets. These are umpteen series/parallel fed dipoles made for X-band satellite TV. Weather seals all still good, even against inquisitive Cornish birds. Ideal if you have limited mast space, or like square aerials... or ...... Last used for wideband ATV, so they have modified LNBs one for TX and one for RX. The RX one went into the ancient analogue satellite box, and then into the SCART socket of a TV. The TX LNB is a reversed one (see early scatterpoint article) which gave 40mW or so of TV transmit. Good condition, complete, and best of all, FREE. Now the catch: buyer collects, or meets me at either RSGB Newark event (Fri. 27 Sept).... 73 Martyn G3UKV
