Just as another data point I can hear GB3MCB up here in IO83LR at sea level.  

It is peaking to s3 this morning and quite audible.

I make it's freq 1296.846325MHz - GPS locked IC-9100 and using Spectran to measure audio tone.
See attached file.

Using a 16 ele at about 30 feet AGL /ASL

As for 6 mtrs - MCB also seems a little off freq there as well, not sure why as my IC-7800 is also GPS locked, maybe they use a master reference ?

Count me in! I now have (I think) about 1W on 10GHz, and hope to be active either from one location, or possibly roving, for the contest. I can also provide a few watts on 23cm but don't know whether or not I will take my 2m portable dish - if fixed I will, else it will be just a 15-ele Yagi. Location should be in south west Scotland. Another reminder, this time for Microwave Field Day which takes place on Sunday August 4th from 0900-1700z (1000 - 1800 BST), on the 1.3GHz and 10GHz bands, with Open and Restricted sections for portables, and a new section for fixed stations this year. This is a great opportunity to try some portable operation on the microwaves and introduce newcomers to what is afoot on the two most active microwave bands, its not too late to plan a foray.

I will circulate an activity list about a week before the event.

As far as I know, they do not use common frequency reference.
Each beacon is a completely seperate unit.

I have just checked the beacons I can from GB3MCB. I use an IC-756 Pro 2 on 6 m and that gives me about zero beat on 10 MHz when I can hear WWV at night. Using the IC-910X on 2 m, 70 cms and 23 cms which seems to be about 500 Hz out on 23 cms. Not back on 4 m yet and I have nothing on 3 cms.

Listing the nominal frequencies and then the ones I have indicated on my radios,-
1296.860 1296.8459
432.970 432.967
144.469 144.46765
50.0424 50.04283

I presume that they do not have a common frequency reference as the one on 6 m seems slightly high and the rest, especially 23 cms, seem low. That is still taking into account that my IC-910X has not been calibrated yet but is close enough for my main purposes.

GB3IOJ is back on 6 m but the antenna is temporary and will be replaced soon. My indication is 50.06523 MHz when unkeyed.

New LTC6946 PIC firmware

A while ago someone suggested including PIC code to allow link or switch selection of one-of-several prestored frequencies.
 
A version of the PIC firmware to control the LTC6946 Synth module in this way is now available.  The new firmware allows four complete register sets to be stored in the controller PIC's EEPROM, and selected by choosing one of four link settings.    Complete flexibility in synth programming is allowed for each of the four settings, with the complete register set being loaded each time.
 
An additional link allows the register contents to be programmed using an RS232 serial interface and ASCII text commands - in a not-dissimilar manner to that for the original controller.    A minor modification (addition of one pull-up resistor) is needed on the PCB.
 
So now, anyone needing several switchable LOs for 2.4GHz EME has a solution.
And new LOs for those feared band changes are no more than a bit of typing away.
