Sadly, my old Bridgeport clunker only takes native R8 tooling. Easy to fine ISO40 to R8, but the other way round isn't exactly a sensible idea.  If I ever have to rebuild the spindle and quill, I might convert to ISO40.

I just spotted the Dean Smith and Grace 1306 lathe in that auction.  Now I am sad because I don't quite have the floor space. It would mean knocking an internal blockwork wall down. If it goes for less than £1k, I'm going to kick myself for months. <> Fancy putting that through Palletforce?
