Just fitted latching ae relay in my 9Cm.
PTT goes to small 12v DPDT relay, center to pos, then normally closed contact to rx side of ae relay, and the normally open to tx side. Seems to work ok, 2 components, relay and diode of course, no semiconductors, bish bash bosh.
