take along a homebrew ~0.5W SSB 2m rig not much bigger than an FT817 and a
three element 2m "back -packing" beam and that was quite adequate for 100km+
talkback . Of course he would hear our Belcom Liner 2's easily...in
many places!
Aye, Chris - and he held the British (and World?) DX record for some time
too (Mull of Kintyre to Pendeen Watch?) whilst using such QRP gear, so it shows
it can be done!
