Special event: The King of White Hart Lane
Book-signing - with sports author, Mike Donovan
Come along to Bruce Castle and meet award-winning author and sports journalist Mike Donovan at the book-signing of his new book 'The King of White Hart Lane'. A Spurs fan since 1961, Mike has written several Tottenham Hotspur-related books including 'Glory, Glory Lane: Spurs' Greatest Games', as well as 'Spurs' Unsung Hero: Terry Dyson'.
'The King of White Hart Lane' is the authorised life-story of Alan Gilzean, the legendary, world-class Tottenham Hotspur, Dundee and Scotland footballer. Exclusive insights provided by his family, closest friends and colleagues add to the author's own experience - and his research at the archive at Bruce Castle - to reveal Gilzean, the man and the player.
A reserved, charming and intelligent individual who shunned the limelight off the field, Gilzean played with a swagger as a maker and taker of goals, especially alongside Jimmy Greaves at Spurs. Becoming one of the greatest performers in the history of both his clubs, Gilzean was an elegant striker and popular footballer, dubbed 'Nureyev in Boots'. There will never be another like him.
Get your own signed copy of this new book by Mike Donovan for only £13.99, direct from the author. Just pop along on Saturday 30 November.
