Meditation is a process of understanding your mind, its motives & the ways of its working - moment to moment.
Dhyana is a Sanskrit word meaning "meditation." It is derived from the root words, dhi, meaning “receptacle” or “the mind”; and yana, meaning “moving” or “going.”
Meditation is observing the movements of your mind, certainly not focussing or paying attention to any external objects.
