Austerlitz

The battle of Austerlitz has reached a conclusion.

Yesterday's fighting saw the Russians launch a counter-attack on their left against the French right. This caused a great deal of damage to the French units who had to fall back and form a defensive line.
The French advance on their own left against the Russian right ran into a solid defensive line with 9 batteries that would not be moved.
This left the center. As the French marched up the Pratzen they were met head to head with brutal volleys and melees. But finally the French broke through the Russian line and the Imerial Guard began to push through.

The Russians decided that they had no chance of re-taking the heights and the army began an orderly withdrawal. The French were content to let them go and the battle was declared a minor French victory as they held the field. It was all-in-all a hard fought battle on both sides.

Thanks to all for playing.

It was a lot of fun.  Very Napoleonic. Harder to keep your objectives than taking it !!!!
