Re: Drang Nach Osten/Fire in the East

Kochese (Larry)

I've played it along with their other offerings, Narvik Etc.If you like minutia you will love these games. In what game that you know have units that do nothing but chage the gauge of railroad track! Playing the Eastern front on a Regimental level will take some patience. Cannot help with the updates, but you must have a Very large game room.

Neal Catapano (the warstore) passed away over the week end

We just received word that Neal Catapano passed away over the weekend. Neal owned The Warstore (now part of Noble Knight Games (Official)). It was a digital oasis for those seeking to buy hobby gear when local stores didn’t carry what they needed.

Neal, was only 55, when he passed away. What we’ll always remember is his unparalleled approach to providing exceptional customer service. He was always kind in our dealings with him.

No problem was too small for him to fix. He strived to make each person’s gaming experience the best it could be.

His business also was the friendly local game store for people on Long Island. For years we’ve heard stories from those would shop and game there. They’d tell how delightful it was to go to Neal’s shop. For those lucky enough to live near it, Neal’s store was their Cheers.

We hope you’ll join us in sending our sympathies to his family, friends, and loved ones he left behind.

You will be missed, Neal.

I can see your point.
This rule has been moved to the Dungeon of the Local Lord where it will stay for ever and its short existence will not be remembered

It’s already harder to move multiple times because of the +1 to activate.

Is it to discourage units from doing so?
If that’s the case then just stop allowing multi-moves.

Not sure I like that rule.
I like it the way we’ve been playing.

I ran the QRS by a few Facebook groups and a few friends and they pretty all play in a similar way
My friend Mark Severin (owner of Scale Creep Miniatures) told me that when a unit moves more than 1 move it lowers its armor by 1 so fast but takes a lot of hits (We can use a chip color for lower armor)
Any ideas?

I am making progress on my Moors and Spanish for a big battle game.
I have twisted the rules for a Big Battle adding strategic moves. I added some suggestions from Dave such as an evade means activation for next turn. I have added the Counter Charge as an Activation, I also combine the QRS and the rules in a single sheet and added the colored markers (I have a good set of colored chip)

I am attaching it so we can discuss later.
