bob..

stll cant access nap rules test site. it wont accept my password and cant
change it.

i also had a thought about your "bavarian" artillery with the tall plumes
and bell top shakos. they are probably
russin. now bear with me a moment. in 1813-14 there was the russo-germn
legion wearing distinctely russian
uniform.. if they fa an attached artillery unit, it is possible that they
were equiped with english equipment, ie horse
artillery pieces. just a thought.

as to the poll. i am open to almost anything with a strong preference for
historical and linear
as to game times. how about every other week on a sturday daytime. i
woukld then be able to host a 6mm game...

Hi all,

My name is John Buck and I am a wargamer.

I started gaming (boardgames and RPGs) back in the early 80s. I started

wargaming also back in the 80s when I mostly played Warhammer and Rogue

Trader (40K), with a bit of historical gaming thrown in. I took a

10 year break starting in the early 90s when they needs of raising a

family took priority over my love of toy soldiers. I never lost my
love of miniatures or gaming but didn't have a lot of time for playing.

I have over the last few years, been collecting rules and miniatures.
(I am something of a rules junky.) I have enough unpainted lead to
protect several homes from radioactive fall-out. Working on getting
them all painted. Although, what I paint may change based on what the
group is planning on gaming.

I still occasionally play GW games, mostly because my sons are victims
of the "All things GW are great." zombie hoard. I'm trying to break
them of that. (Trying a expand their horizons.) I find them fun on
occasion, but I am definitely not a tournament player. I prefer to
play for fun and am not interested in how many different armies/people
I can beat in a game.

I have become a big fan of the Warmaster rules and its variants. I
really like the command/control aspect and not having to worry about
the fiddly details like weapon/armor penetration ratios, etc. If I
had to pick a favorite period it would be Ancients (Punic Wars)
followed closely by the Horse Musket period (French & Indian War /
AWI). I enjoy just about any gaming though.

Rules that I am currently most interested in:
Warmaster (Fantasy)
Warmaster Ancients & Medievals
Blitzkrieg Commander (WWII)
Coldwar Commander (Modern)
Futurewar Commander (Sci-Fi)

I am looking forward to getting together with like minded gamers.
Unfortunately, I have a wedding that conflicts with the Game Day on
the 3rd. I will have to wait until the 16th to meet you all. I hope
I didn't ramble on too much.

Hi,

Just so I'm sure I did it right...

At last Friday's game we decided that the next game night (Dec. 19th)
was not going to happen. We would not meet again until after
Christmas.

So I deleted the 12/19 game night from the club calendar and the next
game is scheduled to be a game DAY on Saturday, January 3rd.
9:00 AM to Whenever.

Is that the way you all remember it ??

Tonight's game - Another Colonial Game-Fest !

Bob <brodgers@...>

Colonel Mustard has been directed by the Colonial Office to
recconoiter the Kiss-My Pass. His scouts have reported that a strong
Dervish force has taken up residence in the pass and occupied the old
fort that controls it.

Colonel Mustard has marched out with a strong British force to clear
the pass and pacify the area. Along the way he enlisted the
assistance of a local Egyptian force. Together they are chrged with
moving through the Kiss-My Pass, driving out the Dervish, and
occupying the fort so that this type of trouble doesn't happen again.

The Brits and Egyptians are on the attack for this game.
The Dervish have initial hidden placement and hidden movement until
spotted.

I have secret instructions for both sides.
So, I'll take command of the Dervish garrison in the fort and the
rest of you can decide if you want to be Dervish, Egyptian, or
British. And I won't divulge any secrets to the enemy.

Its a fairly big battle so everyone should have plenty-o-troops.

You could play with your figures at your house if he can't ever make
it out on a game night.

Also, Would anyone be interested in doing a Game Day some Saturday ?
Making it an all-day 9:00 Am to 9:00 PM or thereabouts ?

Michael has E-Mail but not Internet so he may not be able to join. With

Mark, Richard, and Michael

I've sent out two invitations to join the Imperial Lances Yahoo group and you still haven't joined. What's up with that !

I want to get those rules into final playtest in January so if you are interested in Napoleonics please join that group.

I'm going to make a general announcement in the next couple of weeks and then hundreds of guys will volunteer because they'll want to get copies of the rules for free. I won't accept them all because I'm going to keep the playtesters to a manageable number and, with you guys, I know I have a captive audience.

You can always run your game on my table.
Like Michael did with his Wild West town.

I'll set up something for Friday and we can talk about what other
folks want to do.

Imperial Lances

Bob <brodgers@...>

Everyone in this group that is not already a member of the Imperial
Lances playtest group has been sent an invitation to join.

If you're interested in Napoleonic gaming and want to be part of the
final playtest, accept the invitation.

I expect to have the rules in playtest form and up on that site by
January.

I see that there will now be 15mm pre-painted WWII German and US

Bob <brodgers@...>

Mark,

I saw this note on the Miniatures Page and thought you might be
interested. Since you've mentioned Romans a couple times.

It appears that Warmodelling will soon be cominig ont with plastic 15mm
ancients. Lots of cheap minis in each box.
