I sent their gaming coordinator a message asking for some details.
We'll see what they have to say.
If we run that many games, we should get some perks.

The convention is in June.
It will be in the Mesa Convention Center.

What does the group think about us setting up as a club and running
games continuously throughout the weekend ?

I believe it would mean one game on friday night, three games on
saturday and one game on sunday morning. So, 5 games at a minimum. We
could also double up in some game slots and run two or more games at
the same time.

I know I have the stuff for six or seven different periods. But I
don't want to run ALL the games. And I'm happy to help others run
games too.

So..... What do you guys think ?

Bob

Who can make it this friday the 6th instead of the following friday the
13th? Some folks will be celbrating Valentines Day on the 13th-15th
weekend.

Let me know if you can make it and I'll schedule a game if we can get
at least 4 people.

Cavalry gets the same options.

If the attack is in its front, the cav can counter charge or advance
to meet the assault. Otherwise it either evades or stands in place and
takes its lumps.

In your example below, you are talking about Inf. and Art. What about Cav?
That was the one I did not think we did correctly. Charged on the flank
and they passed morale, they were allowed to turn to face?

I do like this scenario. It is a smaller but more seasoned force against a
larger but greener force. I did feel that the addition of the French
cavalry weighted the battle in the French favor but for testing purposes I
understand why you did it.

I thought the game went pretty well.
Everyone seemed to like the scenario. ??

Some things we did wrong:
1. When a unit goes into Disorder it moves back 6". Not a full move.
2. When a routed unit checks and fails morale it remains in rout. It
doesn't go "poof". Routed Units can only attempt to rally if they are
at least 10" away from the nearest enemy.
3. When infantry or artillery are charged, and if they pass their
morale check they only have three options;
A. Evade (or try).
B. Stand as they are.
C. Form Square.
If Infantry is assaulted, it has the added option of advancing to
meet the assault.
Inf or Arty may not pivot or otherwise turn to face a flanking charge
or assault.

Also, no-one has used skirmishers to help abate enemy fire.

This Friday's (30th) game

Bob <brodgers@...>

Bellegarde's Austrian Advance Guard Korps is pushing through a mountain
pass with the task of making sure its open for the main body to follow.
These Austrian troops are veterans and have been recently re-organized
as a part of Archduke Charles' reforms.

Lannes' French II Corps has been tasked with area security and he is
moving into the pass with two of his divisions. While large, the
divisions are still somewhat green.

Lasalle's Independant Cavalry division is temporarily assigned to
Lannes as well. These troops are veterans of numerous campaigns and
know what they're doing.

Austrians: Clear the pass or at least control the village and bridge
crossings.

French: Deny the Austrians the use of the village and bridge crossings.

Rules: "Imperial Lances" - playtest game.
Scale: 15mm

Just you ? No son ?
Anyway, I'll pull all that Combat Zone stuff out and you can sort
through it and decide what you're interested in. I'll even pull out
the figures and the display that shows what they look like painted.
There are also some pre-painted sets left too.
Since its all excess stock I'll sell it at 50% off.
