Hi,

Since I am mainly interested in the Napoleonic Wars, I'll wait until we start that up again.
Have fun.

Tim,

Cool. Glad to have you join in.
I think we're generally OK with troops.
Sometimes we run short of some of the german minor allies.
Won't need Ruskies for this campaign.

I'll put together the info you'll need and send it along in the next couple days.
You will most likely be a Corps commander on the French side.
Probably the Saxons or the Westphalians.

Later,

Bob

 All,

The 1809 Danube Campaign has been ongoing for more than three months now and is entering its 6th week map moves. We have had a few players drop out for various reasons and there are now new troops entering the theatre. This means that there are commands available if you are interested in joining in.

The committment is relatively small;
About every three weeks you will need to send in orders for your troop movements on the campaign map that equate to one week's "real-life" movement.
And we play out any battles on the tabletop every other week on a Friday night. Next game night is the 11th.
You are not required to play in the games, but its more fun if you do.

Let me know if you're interested, and which side you'd prefer and we'll get you plugged in.

Also, if you would just like to play in the games, but not participate in the map maneuvering, etc. You can do that too.

Bob

Hello

I will be at the next meeting, and interested in being more active and committed if it's ok.

I also have a handicapped friend who has Multiple Sclerosis who is interested in coming. He loves history and would like to visit (and possibly become a member). Would that be possible?

Since I am new to the group I wanted to ask first.

Also I still have British, French and a small number of Prussian figures available for sale if anyone is interested.

Are there any events this coming holiday weekend? I am game!

Thanks,

Rob Huffman

This will be the Battle of Nannhofen.
In which Ed "The squashin' Austrian" attempts to open a big can of Whup-Ass on Dave "The Bavarian Bomber" in a no-holds-barred grudge match deep in the Bavarian Black Forest.

Ed's Austrians are weighing in at 2 Korps and snarling with an attitude.
Dave's single Corps of Bavarians give up a little weight but are undaunted and full of insults regarding the Hapsburg's lineage and their fondness of small weenies from Vienna.

Don't miss this exciting match-up.
The winner taking home nothing less than the lager recipe from Nannhofen's own Hilda's Hoffbrau Haus.
Yum, Yum!

I have up to 4 platoons of US and 3 of Germans along with halftracks, AT guns, mortars and tanks - depending on how many people show.  I am thinking of doing a German counter attack or offensive action or we can play it by ear.

OK then.

I'll set up the Battle of Munich.

Bavarians vs Austrians

The battle will have about a Corps (Korps) on each side.

Austrians are defending.

Game starts at 7:00 PM Friday.

Please remember to RSVP so we won't run out of beer.

Ed will not be able to make it to game night this Friday.
Since his troops are involved in the Munich battle, he has requested that we wait to fight it until next game night. That seems reasonable. But, since that's the last campaign battle for week 4, we'll need to do a substitute game.

If anyone wishes to volunteer to run a game, I'll happily provide the table and whatever troops I have, depending on the game.

If no-one volunteers, I'll put something together and you'll all be surprised.
