I also have a couple rule sets that we can look at.
"Long Knives" is a, 1 figure = 1 man, skirmish set.
It uses ten sided dice and randomized movement and is pretty good.

Wild West figures
There are two sets of "Painted" 28mm figures offered by Em-4

Multi-period rule sets tend to be good at one period and mediocre or
bad for the rest. But, If someone finds a rule set they like that
spans periods I'm willing to have a go.
