Yes, I'll be home most of the day on friday.
I might have to be out for about an hour. Not sure yet.
So you should be able to set up. Adam will be on your side so he can assist.
He says he has some ideas about getting accross the bridge.
"Foolishness!", I say.

Also, don't forget to bring your printouts of the various web site pictures.

And,...... Everyone take a look through your paperwork to see if you
inadvertently scooped up one or more of my three-fold chart sheets. I
started with 9 or 10 and I'm down to 4 now. Dave found one mixed in
with his map and troop rosters so I'm hoping maybe others have some too.

Bob,

I have not been able to access these sites since I am using the
computer at work.

Are you taking time off work since Adam is here? I am off all day on
Friday since I need to go in that night. I could come by early and get
the guys set up.

Mark,

Any luck finding your troop rosters?

Re: [Table-Top_Gaming_Society] Wild West Figures

Hopefully we'll end up with a good mix once everyone weighs in.
Yes, the figures are unpainted unless you want some of the pre-painted
box sets.
But, the box sets are only town shoot-out types and not cavalry vs indians.

Did anyone check out the EBAY links from my other message ?
There was one auction with rules and 20 already-painted wild west figures.
The picture was blurry but the figures looked serviceable.

Thanks for the vote of confidence.

But..... I don't want to order too much stuff and get stuck with the
extra costs if some guys decide not to participate or they want
alternate figures.
So, I really only want to order what people specifically say they want.

For instance, I could order 180 Apaches and 180 Cavalry.
With 6 guys taking equal slices, that equals 30 apaches and 30 cavalry each.
But, if one guy then says he wants only the cavalry figures, I get
stuck with the extra 30 apaches. And the associated cost.

Not the end of the world if it happens once or twice. But you can see
the potential annoyance it could cause.

So, lets compile the order(s) friday night. With everyone there.
That way we can also make sure we're going to end up with a playable mix.

Hmmm..............

I say YES, 28mm Western.
I would also like to recommend that we begin with wild west shootout
skirmish style games and work our way into larger units of cavalry and
Apaches and/or Plains Indians. That way folks can get started with
relatively few figures but know they need to keep looking at the
bigger picture.

Now I need to know who wants me to order stuff and who's doing it on

So anyone who hasn't already told me should bring their list friday night.

I'm building napoleonics and ancients.  I am not yet commited tp scale, although I have a few dozen foundry ancients, which I will be selling off on ebay once I get started on the ho scale figs found on this site.  I am still committed to the larger scale western figs and my order for the emt5 figs still stands.  the figs discovered on this site provide expansion possibilities into other areas than those already committed to ,  such as ancients, ecw, 7yw, crimea, franco-prussian and colonial.  those expansions of interest can be catered to for a financial involvement of a small fraction of the cost of collecting metals.  There are a variety of ways to work around the flexibility problem.  I am attracted to the TSA Command and Colour rules, Grenadiers & Grognards, as a way to enjoy napoleonics without making a lifetime commitment of obsessive and lunatic proportions to the period.

Nevilefor reasonable prices is nothing short of staggering!  Every conceivable Napoleonic nation (including French napoleonic ambulances!) is offered; not to mention colonials, crimean war, ecw, 7yw, awi, the crusades, etc (even polish winged hussars!);  the array of ancients available is beyond belief (war elephants from at least three different manufacturers).   Please follow the link below to the last page and see if you dont agree with me!  Enjoy!

I took a look through the site.
Looks like a good deal if you want the HO scale (1/72 or 20mm) figures.
You could build up an army pretty fast.
Remember that they are almost all soft plastic.

I thought we said we were all going to go with the 28mm figures for the Western Wars ??
Nevile, you even said you wanted the two painted wild west sets from Em-4. (28mm)

We'd better confirm our scale before we all go off in different directions.

For me personally, I'm going with either 15mm or 28mm.
The only 20mm stuff I have is my civil war stuff.
And that's pretty much done.

But, I'm not adverse to playing with someone else's figures.

Bob

Gentlemen,

I have just struck gold!  Fishing around the internet tonight, I came across this link for an online store in the UK that ships internationally.  Not only do they have most of the airfix stuff, but also revell, italieri, and a gaggle of more obscure plastic historical mini manufacturers in OO scale that offer every conceivable miniature in every conceivable period that you can name.  Prices are reasonable (dirt cheap to affordable), and they ship internationally without soaking you for international shipping rates (most shipping prices are built in to the price of the minis).  The breadth of available miniatures for reasonable prices is nothing short of staggering! Enjoy!

All the best,

Nevile
