It`s in the back of my mind that somebody mentioned that his curve tracer
had a defective mains transformer. There`s one on eBay at the moment : enter "Tektronix 576 curve tracer transformer 120-0610" in the Search for anything field. I think it is the HV transformer that tends to fail at a high rate.
