465B shielded transformer?

Siggi

Hey y'all,

After the talk about grounding and X caps, etc, I figured I'd take a look
at the 465B power supply schematic. To my surprise, it's a linear supply,
no switching there and hence no noise suppression X/Y caps.
What really caught my eye is that the mains transformer also looks to be
shielded. Is this commonplace in scopes of the era?

To my limited knowledge, the 6 scopes I have from that era 465-465B-466-468-475A-485, all have similar power supplies, except for the 485 which has a switch-mode supply.

I am guessing given the compactness of the scope that this is to prevent 50-60 cycle buzz to be shielded from the rest of the internals of the scope not to shield from the outside world.
