7854 RAM card upgrade only - any interest?
And I hit the send button too quick. Right now the prototype APPEARS functional, I haven’t done anything to verify every address etc, but it passes the POST. There is much more to be done in the area

I’m still here! I didn’t realize I’d missed emails from Cliff or others. My apologies. I am finally unpacking the lab now, and getting set up again. I am going to post the design files as soon as I ca

Repair 7904
Not easily. Do I understand that the failure occurred after you were finished bringing up the mains slowly? If that's the case, we are still probably looking for a bad cap, although now the search inc

Repair 7904
I'm still a little confused on where you are at. If you remove the timebase again, does it power up without the timebase? Or is it still ticking with no plugins? A 7904 should power up with no plugins

7904 Main Frame Power Supply
*Repeat as nescessary... that's actually what I'm doing this weekend, took me 3 7A26s to find one without a short last night. Time to shotgun the tants in my daily use plugins at least. Nathan KK4REY

Does the scope still start up minus the time base? 7k series plugins are famous for shorted Tantalum Capacitors. Nathan KK4REY via Newton Mail [https://cloudmagic.com/k/d/mailapp?ct=pi&cv=9.1.9&pv=10.

P6201 Repairability
David, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fT issue. Nothing in the p6201 manual indicates that the MMBF4416 is selected in any way, yet calculating fT from data sheet min-max indicates a rang

I haven't dug that far into one yet, as far as the procedure, but the tips on the 6201 are replaceable, the full kit came with replacement tips. Tucker has 1 or 2. Nathan KK4REY via Newton Mail [https

I got the probes in, wound up with 3 total, from the same seller. 1 is completely dead, the other 2 have deceptively nice low frequency response on the scope calibrator, but drop off by 400 kHz(bottom

Nobody talks about their 54xx units
I have a 5441 with a blown HV section, but other than that I probably have any mainframe parts you need. I'll check and see what plugins are in that, but I know none of the "special" ones. I bought it

P6205 non-repairable?
That's a little odd that they went that way. My P6201s(see my thread a week or so ago) have a FET that is quite replaceable. There *are* a few people that are doing wire bonding at home, but I suspect

P6201 Repairability
Thanks very much! Final question, Digi-Key lists a MMBF4416 at 100mhz or a MMBF4416A at 400mhz. Was the Tek part selected? Or just using it outside of the data sheet application. Nathan KK4REY via New

P6201 Repairability
So I just won an auction for a relatively complete, but non-working P6201. I mainly wanted the accessories that I didn't have for the probe I already have. But... Tek acquisition disease strikes again

TDR Slide Rule
I knew that TDR could be used for almost any transmission line, but I was unaware that a relatively simple device like a 1501 would effectively work on HV cable etc... would have thought that it would
