Tektronix 3001GPX power up & boot
I'm the guy who posted the boot process on YouTube. Sadly I have little more to add to the discussion, since I sold the 3002 years ago. I can confirm that it was loud, yes. Though it had a lot of clev

7104 strange beam shape
I've just tried to use my 7104 for the first time in a few months. It's been stored in the attic of my house for that time. When put away, it was working really well. It still seems to be working well

If you're bored and have a 7000 series scope
This also works with dual-timebase 500 series tube scopes and a bit of wiring of one sweep output to the Y axis. Neat trick. I eatablished a couple of years ago that it can be extended to serial digit

tek 2430 displaying frequency issues
Bear in mind also that the frequency measurement on a 2430A isn't very good. It's done using maths on the sampled data and is nowhere near as accurate as a proper frequency counter. I wouldn't trust i

I'm pretty sure the calibration procedure is the same for both versions. I've used both, and they're sufficiently similar that information about one is likely to be useful to the other. Chris

7D15 Character Display
I see the same effect with my 7D15 in my 7904A. It's to do with the character generator in the 7904A. It can only generate a certain (small) number of points per character, and drawing an '8' smoothly

Looks like both A and B timebase buttons are pushed in, which is an invalid combination, and the intensity is cranked up to maximum so the screen illumination is probably just a very intense spot some

Help with 7D15 Tek logic gates
Yes, they're really handy. I use them for all sorts of odd jobs that don't fit in to a microcontroller or FPGA, like signal conditioning or taking signals in to odd power domains. Chris

Why is the rotation necessary? The CRT monitor is mounted rotated anyway, isn't it, so the "vertical" scan is actually left to right, same as on your replacement LCD. Chris
