Some processors (8085 for instance) have two serial pins, SID, SOD (Serial input/output Data) which needs to be considered. You could also bitbang a slow UART if you had two extra pins. Your standard

What to do with 7834 that is missing its CRT?
One approach I'd consider would be rasterization. I'd take a fast running A/D, feed it from the X and Y inputs, then combine the outputs into a low and high memory address, set that value according to

I know of several sources, Qservice, the TekMuseum, Sphere.... There might be someone who has a dead 7834 somewhere with a bad CRT. You've put something out on the WTB list? Harvey

I think I did miss that post. You're ahead of me in the diagnosis, so a bad HV multiplier can mess things up. You did check the usual sources for the multiplier block? Harvey

It would be good to look at the voltages with a scope as well, since they are effectively pulses during the chirp. The tektronix power supply (roughly the 7000 series) tended to sum all of the voltage

Can the Tek P6016 Current Probe be used on a Type 134 amp or 7A14 ?
Check to see what the passive terminators actually do. While you'll get the waveform into the scope, the frequency response will not be what you expect. Maybe in the scope probe manuals, there's a pas

Actually, not really. The 134 amplifier (and twins) have considerable filters for shaping response. The 7A14 has a ring which changes frequency response (for different probes) when the ring is grounde
