TDS520 Console corruption
I use one of these: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/console-port-debug-adapter-for-tek-tds500-tds600-and-tds700-series-scopes/ No null modem cable is needed, but you need the serial / parallel

TDS520 Console corruption
I don't think that's a real serial port driver/receiver that supports true +-12VDC serial interfaces. Have a look at the VIO spec in the datasheet -.5VDC to VCC+.5VDC. Jay

TDS3044B repair
I can answer that, anyway. Not really feasible, the 2 channel variants are missing the A/D converters, the attenuators, and all the passives around the attenuators.

TDS784D with faint display and blurry image
Good to hear from you as well! Still around and read Tekscopes regularly, but much of it doesn't interest me as it's mostly vintage stuff. Also still buying, repairing, and re-selling scopes. Looking

Hi Tam, To be fair, I only gave you that price as I was repairing your acquisition board for memory failures. There's no way I could do the repair for that price if that were all I was doing... Thanks

Weird. Yeah, if I go online I have to click on "view quoted text" to see what you wrote... For some reason, your emails to the list appear as quoted text.

Nothing. Is it just me, or everytime that "Ray astrodroid@..." posts something there's zero content?

I don't think that's true. You can still buy using a credit card.

TDS794D, alleged shorted power supply?
A likely candidate if the scope is cycling on and off is the CRT assy. Easy to test for - just disconnect the ribbon cable to it.
