Proper vs. practical use of a High Voltage probe: ? Use of a handheld DVM; Contrast the Tek 6015a vs. the HP 34111a vs. Fluke 80k/40 ?
Your (other) MAIN goal...in this case probably try not getting killed in the process, although not sure if the electrostatic HV of most smaller CRTs might give you anything beyond a good bite/shake up

Can CTS capability be added to a 2465B
I forgot to update this thread for some time. The answer to my initial question, can you upgrade a common 2465B to CTT/WR? (options 06 and 09). And the answer is YES. I purchased a "full upgrade kit"

Sounds like a switcher power supply startup random problem. Have you ever recapped it? There is also a number of hi-speed rectifier diodes known for issues that are a must-replace before they fail and

Need advice/recommendations on 2246
If it indicates the "OUCH" even without any input there it certainly looks like a problem with the input circuit, or the peak/level detector/comparator that is used to detect an overvoltage condition.
