What Tektronix means to me - Modern Times
I have great respect for what Tek did before fully digital scopes. How can't you when every other worthy appnote has images of JW's famous 556 with damaged screen?! However, to me, Tektronix has died

It's not intuitive but if you do the math it is, indeed works out perfectly linear - assuming the trim pots are set to the value of 50R. Whoever designed it, deserves to be an employee of the month. T

Affordable current clamp.
I have used Pico's TA018 with good results for 20-30A project https://www.picotech.com/accessories/current-probes-clamps It was accurate, had long battery life and was reasonably cheap for one-off use

LCD screen for CSA803 or 1180x
If anybody wants to replace CRT on CSA803 or 11801/11802 with an LCD please go ahead - it is doable. I had a quick go at it and it seems reasonably straightforward. http://www.leobodnar.com/files/CSA8
