Need Plug In Attenuators for Tek 465 Scope
Tim, I parted out a several Tek 7000-series plug ins. They were mechanically damaged, so I pulled parts. Among them are plug-in attenuators. I have several, but of the ones you mention, I have: 307-10

Rich, Thanks! I’ve been pretty fortunate and these are the first dipped tantalum caps I have had fail like this. Steve H. wrote:

2430A Smoke
I had two dipped tantalum caps fail pretty spectacularly (loud pop, smoke) in a 7B53A. Those who replace these, what do you replace them with? Just newer dipped tantalum caps or a cased tantalum cap?

Serial numbers on 2465, 2465A and 2465B
There was an explanation in the older Tek group about Tek serial numbers. There is (or was) no correlation with manufacturing date. Apparently, the “B” stands for “Beaverton” (where made). The two dig

Rough Shape Oscilloscopes
Bill, I have seen a transition. I work at a major academic medical center. They used to have a policy of letting employees take home computers that were working but out of their current specifications

A short aside first: Jeff - I believe we used to attend the same hamfests - at least the East coast ones (esp Gaithersburg). Often with the late Bill Scripps. Contact me off list if you’d like some up

Tektronix 2465, 2465A, or 2465B
If you are looking for a 2465 of any vintage, I suggest checking out the seller “2465b” on eBay. I have no financial connection with the seller, but I have bought items from him. He supplies them full

Tek Blue Paint
I don't have anything to do a side-by-side, but Tek blue looks like "Federal Blue". Has anyone compared them?

Tek Blue Paint
Years ago, I was able to buy a can of Tektronix blue paint from Tektronix parts. I presume that the option is long gone. I suggest looking through Pantone colors as these are standard and many paints

Are your transistors growing whiskers in their old age?
My interest in restoration of electronics stuff is mostly frequency/time standards. The ones I work on are from the ‘60s and later. Most have discrete components. These are mostly ovenized quartz osci

Those who have been posting about replacement Tek CRTs, you may know of the Sphere Research "Stuff Day" sale. Walt Shawlee has Tek CRTs available both used and new. Here's the URL: https://mail.google
