Really?
What’s bad about it?
The power supply in my 577 seems to be powering it just fine, and has apparently been doing so since it was made.

Re: 547 scope HV transformer problem. One practical solution.
I once had a student, who said "oh look, old technology".
I'd brought in a 7704A with a 7CT1N for a demonstration of transistor curves.
He can't fix the new stuff.
I can fix the old stuff
He can't

Modifications to 577 Curve Tracer Main Power Supply
The main power supply in the 577 Curve Tracer is one of the worst I have ever seen. Does anyone know of suggested modifications to make the power supply behave better???

Re: TDS3000B series
Well the only one I found was at Tek.com and isn't a proper service manual - darn it only just tells you how to open the case, and as for hoping for schematics ...
If you know of a "proper" service

Yes, we engineers are pragmatic people, efficient problem solvers. When after 12 years of being away from electronics I saw the need for a working oscilloscope I initially thought about

Re: 555 Attributes, facets, benefits and General Discussion
Tom's mention of using a Type O as a trigger conditioner is interesting. I'd appreciate hearing more about this. Modern scopes have menus for this but they are opaque.
The 556 is a wonderful scope

Hi Albert,
Good that you noticed, it's probably because I hooked it up to this wonderful Windows 98 machine...
No battery backup in that machine, but it does have a SSD ;-)
I will check and update
