Re: Tek 2215 Low Bright
I can't really help you with the diagnosis, but I can tell you that a hum is not normal. I've owned a 2215 since I bought it new in the late 80s and it has never hummed at all.

Ancel,
Yes, It is always good practice to clean switches and contacts. I have learned to do this first thing, before I even power up most of the equipment that I get. I have bought so much stuff

My trick to remove ic's that I do need to re-use is:

Do I need to replace it with 2.2mf 200v or let's say 10mf 200v will work too?

A bit anecdotal but figured i'd share a recent situation that may help you
narrow down where to look: Recently a friend of mine had a 2213 (note: not
the 2213A) I believe it has a similar power supply

R7844 PSU is sick! Can you help?
Hi All
The mains suppressor blew up in my R7844 as they tend to, however I replaced it and nothing happened, the fan just moved a little.
I have tracked the fault down to the U1275 IC being cut off

For whatever reason, when I just checked the scope again, the network is
now working. I have it setup that if I press PRINT, is now saves a BMP of
the screen to the "T" drive, which is a temp folder
