TDS784D not booting, never seen this before
I got this TDS784D (S/N B0104XX) in an auction which could not turn on.
First it turns out that the PSU was in a startup loop and could not start, so that was an easy fix and PSU is working perfectly

Doing some additional digging in the TEK Cross Ref. 151-0474-00 is well documented in the TEK transistor guide page 6-19. 151-0614-00, on the other hand, is not.

I think Brad was on the right track suggesting thermal shock to the tubes from getting wet. I'd go a step further and say this may have been in a flood or other watery event, while operating!

Well, I do know that this unit came from Alabama and probably was from a vacant property or was left in a barn. Either way, I have never seen so much corrosion, which may well be from salt as well. As

thermal cycles finally got to the tubes... Are the tips broken off, glass

emails was before, it still is.
I had to login to yahoo, goto the manage my groups tab,
and then set all of my groups to no emails.
