Well fundlebark! I went to upgrade today. When I pull the fan, the chip
came with it. Luckily no damaged, as far

Thanks for that, reading the section of the manual around the diagnostic
tests is not very clear to me - I have a hunch that at some point the penny
will drop and then I can see what the text was

Re: Which type of transistor is SG503 Q190 151-0614-00?
Albert,
That is the burning question in my mind? How is it possible to have two different voltages on E1 and E2 if they are, in fact, a single common emitter? Unless there is a component inside

Well said, Ernesto. A feeling shared by many in this Group. I'd like to add the satisfaction that participating in these Groups gives.

RL, Michael,
In the datasheets of the mentioned types I don't see any asymmetry in the role of E1 and E2. Then why is a 0.7 V difference between E1 and E2 present in at least 3 tested SG503s?

Re: Which type of transistor is SG503 Q190 151-0614-00?
RL,
So basically, TEK designed the circuit to fit the available parts that met the required specification? As usual, I was looking for some very complex reason for them using that particular part.

Thanks for the background on the Tek Orders. I have downloaded these and will see if any of the mods were installed. Thanks to Bob C about the HV. That helped me from going down that rabbit

There is no fan, but thanks for the suggestion. I might look at putting one in. I had not noticed that it was pre-
wired for it.

Re: Which type of transistor is SG503 Q190 151-0614-00?
There are dual emitter bipolar tetrodes - 3N74, 3N75, 3N76, and 3N127. All low power.
However, from the schematic, there doesn't appear to be any reason why dual emitters
might be required, except
