Tek scopes on the job: the Ranger 7 lunar probe
It took a lot of 500-series scopes back in 1964 to bring us the first TV
pictures of the lunar surface - see how many you can spot:

While the parts list specifies capacitors as electrolytic with the
notation "ELCTLT", that applies to *all* electrolytic capacitors
including C374 which is actually a 150D series hermetically

I had always wanted one of these but they were really expensive. I also had read about them in this forum and EEVBlog where there were a few horror stories about the delicacy of the hall sensor probe

SMPS Danger.
I saw some comments on this and wanted to add a personal story - even adults sometimes only learn through experience. One day my PCs SMPS failed. I got another since I didn't want to be off the air

Re: Tek 2465: readout unstable after PSU recap
Set your oscilloscope to line triggering. If using a 7A22 or DSO, use
the high frequency cutoff or averaging to remove the high frequency
ripple.

+42.4V 2% 80mV
+15V 1.5% 15mV

General DC voltmeters are very slow compared to even general purpose
operational amplifiers used as comparators. Some have a minimum and
maximum peak hold mode but usually even that will be too
