Re: Probe identify problem on 7A16 plug-in (Mainframe 7603)
Yes, the rest of the board is the same as the diagram. It would seem that this reading card was designed for specific probes, it doesn't seem to have been modified after production, I don't know what

Re: [UK] 545A on eBay - Wigan
Colin,
The missing knob is one the left hand lever switch. It's not easy to see. It's a minor flaw.

Bidding is picking up so will be interesting if anyone on here is the winner. I see the seller has put their mobile phone number, for anyone from outside the UK you can ring it by changing the leading

Re: 2236 Sudden Tick Mode
Power supply is in self protect mode due probably to some external overload condition.
If no other clear indication of the cause if found, I think the logical step would be to go backtrack and remove

Re: Tm500 Extender on eBay
I just received my TM500 extender (new manufacture) and can verify that it DOES have the chamfers on the key-slots. It looks very nice.

They might be talking about the 284 Vs the 506. The 284 is much faster about 70ps

PG506 vs. PG506A risetime?
I have a Lecroy DA1855A differential amplifier with DXC100A probes. I am trying to calibrate the probes. The calibration manual calls for a PG506A "or equivalent" for calibration. They are using both

Re: tunnel diodes retrace lines in curve tracer
Miguel,
Isn't this what we expect to see, because, in the range of negative resistance the diodes is oscillating between the two ranges of positive resistance VERY rapidly?

Hi folks
I´m looking tunnel diode in curve tracer, I don´t understand because the retrace, jumping lines are straight and no in cross

Re: 465B strange ripple
I don't understand how/why a signal/ripple of around 1mV would disturb adjusting the horizontal using 1ms/div time markers; their amplitude would normally be hundreds of mV at least.
This is all

The two custom plug ins I use regularly are my 10MHz standard and my TM500 frame tester. They both are useful to me and fill a need I couldn't easily fill with a Tek unit. I(( can send pics if you

Re: Shipped They Are and Board Chamfer
Regarding the TM500 board connectors, there actually is a small chamfer or edge break on these edge finger connectors and it is important that it be present. You might need a magnifying glass to see

Re: 465B strange ripple
Not as good as a real diff amp but you can use the "ADD" mode of the scope and invert Ch2 to effectively get Ch1 minus Ch2 differential measurements.
Good news, no need to hunt for caps.

Re: Probe identify problem on 7A16 plug-in (Mainframe 7603)
Are other components (R720, R718, CR740) in readout section on sheet <1> matching the schematic?
If everything else is the same R621 of 22.2k instead of 2.05k is the reason for your observation.

You say you found a model number; what was it? That might be helpful in identifying the instrument.
