The 2710/11/12/14/15 spectrum analyzers rely heavily on SMD parts.
They were built from 1988 for the 2710's, to around 2001/02 for the 2715's.
However, they do not rely on a lot on surf mount

In my 2710 all caps weren not fresh anymore. A few really dead, the others all had a rather high D. This is the first time I had to total recap an instrument. Most times it is reforming or sometimes

That, I couldn't say. The later 275x models would share the same issues, because they're just repackaged 49x models. But the 2710 series was completely different.
