Re: Tek 576 Curve Tracer Repair
Sam,
in mine it was the resistor in the HV box.
You could have a look inside this box and look if
this resistor is getting hot. Its on the right
upper side under the metal

I think the "-57" on yours is the single sweep option, mine doesn't have that, so I'll just have to guess. Are you saying the single sweep works? If so, is that repeatable? Or did it

Sorry about the incorrect reply - there are two troubleshooting threads currently open - a 532 with no sweep, and the 515 vertical. I am contributing to both and replied to this one incorrectly)

Re: 7844 final conclusion
That's too bad, but not surprising. I wonder if the 7844 runs just enough hotter than the 7904 to cause this problem. I've had two 7844s with bad transformers, and three 7904s with no problem at all

I forgot about those - I used them for making front panels. I would put the letters on, then spray with clear lacquer, let it cure and then bake the panels briefly. For buttons, one could spray some

I think that is a single-shot option - the original532 didn't have one.
Some of them may have had P7 phosphors - the 'scopewas popular
in the BioMed / Engineering fields, where 5MHz
