7B50 with External Single Sweep?
I'm in the process of troubleshooting a few things in my 7B50 and I notice the schematic shows a connection to the A15 pin of the rear connector and that connection is labeled EXTERNAL SINGLE SWEEP.

Service Manual for a 5223 w/ Opt. 10
I acquired a 5223 in order to test some plug-ins (5A48s and 5B25Ns), and I guess I didn't do enough research before I bought, because I wound up with a 5223 Opt 10 (GPIB) and TekWiki says that there

Re: High voltage supply T-935
Thanks - Cap seems OK, can't find VR 746 (as Tektonix seem to have their own way of assigning groups. Maybe I'd better get better close-up glasses!)
So voltages seem normal - and the fuse is OK.

Re: Anyone Have a Peltola Socket?
If a scope is going to be new to you get a 465 or 465b so you learn the functions and what they do. Then in a year pick up a modern scope.
Just my 2 cents

Re: Anyone Have a Peltola Socket?
I noticed the "little wings" on the Berg design and I didn't recall those being on the one I have. That's part of what prompted me to wonder if they were interchangeable.
Thanks,

Re: Anyone Have a Peltola Socket?
One more advantage of the Berg design is the silicone plug. It is moisture proof and solder proof. That’s great for washing after soldering and limiting crud after the wire is inserted.
Take care to

Don't forget parts units for things like HV transformers, power supplies, custom ICs CRTs, FP hardware.
7904, 7103, 2430A, and TDS540A on the bench. 2430A is mostly backup, 7103 is just in case.

Re: Opinion on 'scope selection
The 2465 doesn't have a battery backup, unlike the 2465A and B. So you don't have to worry about a battery that has failed, or is about to.
The two scopes on my bench are the 2465 and a 7904.
