Re: 2445b shelf vents for bottom air intakes - should I?
Thanks Jose,
Yes, that's the one I was worrying about. I'm going to cut the holes and add a small fan too.
Curiously, I just put the 2445b up on the finished shelf and fired it up. (no holes yet)

Yes - proving the authenticity of “NASA” property tags can be a challenge
given the wide availability of printers that can print on foil tags.

Then this RM504 is an exception to the rule.
By the way... how does one verify the authenticity of the "Blue and silver sticker" on the front?

Re: 2445b shelf vents for bottom air intakes - should I?
Hi Keith
The failure prone U800 IC is underneath, I remember that its failure is heat related.
Make sure it is well taken care of.
I did put a small 20mm fan inside the case to blow some air on

Looking for XY monitor with storage tube.
Not really a scope but almost. I am looking for a XY display with storage tube. Tek 603 or perhaps 611.
Anyone that has one to sell?

Re: What was the first oscilloscope to have cursors?
Cursor voltage measurement on a Tek scope would have been possible in
1974, certainly. With a 7D12/M2 plugin the timebase delay settings can
be used to highlight a portion of trace for voltage

Re: A high-priced Tektronix RM504
Fun reading! I noticed that a permanent AC line cord was added. That custom modification must be commanding the high reserve.

I doubt it will hit reserve unless someone has no idea what this scope is
worth. Unless I am wrong and the group really thinks it is worth that much.
It does appear to be in nice physical

"Commonly referred to as O-scopes" Really, by who? I don't think I've ever heard anyone call them "o-scopes". At least not here in the valley. Maybe that's what they call them at

Sotheby's "estimates" it will go from 3000-5000 USD.
Southeby's also says, "Our scholarship and expertise in the art market allows us to offer the highest level of service..."

Re: Looking for an T5611-25 CRT (or -7 or -2)
Thanks for checking. I did notice on the DEC schematic for the LINC, they show it as a 561A scope and the phosphor to be a P19.

A high-priced Tektronix RM504
This is one of the (potentially) higher-priced Tek 504s I've seen (it is an RM504) and undoubtedly was NASA property, but it is not a flight

The 6R1 was the Plugin that did the magic, when it was in the Tek 567 scope.
Best,

The 6R1 had highlighted portions of the trace and automatic measurement
functions, as well as an automatic readout - introduced in 1961, IIRC

What was the first oscilloscope to have cursors?
Cursors as in highlighted dots (or bars) that can be moved along the trace with a corresponding method of determining time and voltage..
A second part of the question (if the answer is different) -

Yes, that's a Calcomp 960 plotter with it's 907 controller. Some better photos of that can be seen about 1/3 the way down here: http://www.dvq.com/oldcomp/misc.htm. I restored that plotter about 10
