Using the acquisition part of a 7704A, as I mentioned in an earlier message, of course is out of the question as a general solution. That's why I like your idea and project.

I believe the 577, unlike the 576, is much more repairable for several reasons:
* It came out later than the 576 so it is not as old;
* It was specifically designed to use common Tek
