Re: 7A26 Ch 1 gain low
The small ICs all over the 7A26 board are socketed. I would be inclined to suspect gain set components rather than the ICs themselves.

Re: 7A26 Ch 1 gain low
I have purchased a number of the ICs - #155-0078-10 in order to do some swapping. I am still wondering if theses ICs are soldered in or not. Does anyone have experience of them?
TIA, Colin.

OK, I don't have one, but there's a certain way most of them are designed. Firstly, go look at the block diagram of the vertical section.
Working from the plates backward, you have the output

I too would be interested in some. Please let us know what's available at
what price, and the parts/repairable status.

what you Suggest I Understand... some of it I Do Not. LoL
I can tell you that the Left Deflection Plate Voltage is +47.9V

Looking at the horizontal plates, short them together temporarily. Whatever you get ought to be centered horizontally (more or less) and vertical we

Ok....just checked my Unit again and it shows a bit of the odd behaviour when adjusting the variable capacitor...applied low viscosity (yellow) deoxit this time to both of the capacitor's brass shaft

Re: Strange SG503 Leveled Signal Generator behavior
Hi Walter...
I mentioned a similar experience a couple months back after tolerating it for a while.
The solution I found was related to the variable capacitor shaft contact and the range selector

Re: Big pile of TM500 modules available
Hi Walter,
I would be interested by some modules. Do you have a full list?
Also, the PS501-1 should be simple to fix.
Thank you.
Best regards,

Re: Tektronix 2430A occasionally fails some tests
The scope has the lithium (keeper 2) battery. I checked it's voltage and it's 3.52 V, so I guess it's still fine. I was planning a recap of the PSU, as soon as I get some vishay replacement I'll do

It is possible, I see many scopes with bad PSU, that will appear to work, sort of. I am quite sure that yours needs caps. The PSU may have been repaired in the past, many were. Likely poorly, with

Re: Tektronix 2430A occasionally fails some tests
The scope was never touched internally (the nvram battery is still the original one and no recap was made). I guess I found a "solution" to the problem: if I let the scope warm up for like 10-15
