Yes, it has the pin.

This test tip was the original one for this scope (2467B), right?

Re: Tektronix 2467B Auto Measure Faulty?

As far as I know the P6137 is a 10x only probe, not switchable between 1x or 10x.

It should have the spring loaded identifier pin next to the BNC connector to tell the scope to change the readout.

Ok. So no where near me in Boston. I have two 547s. I haven't started to
dig into either. But the idea was to pick one as the primary and the other
as the parts horse, if I needed a parts horse. But, it's looking more and
more like I should not keep either. I need to thin the herd.

Sphere Stuff Day CRTs (yes, you can stay home an still get them)

Everybody is always looking for unobtainable Tek and HP CRTs, here’s
what we will be clearing out at Stuff Day., along with MANY generic types
which will be posted to the Remote Stuff Day Page. This is an advance look
for list members of the Tek and HP types. These take up a HUGE amount
of room, so I will be very happy to see them live at your place.

Tektronix CRTs any one for US$40 each, unless marked otherwise.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(1) 119-4444-10 Sony CRT assy, NIB ($70)
(1) 154-0235-00 Circ.
(1) 154-0433-00 Circ., w/shield
(1) 154-0633-13 Rect., P7
(1) 154-0633-10 Rect.
(1) 154-0644-09 Rect. Screen dot
(2) 154-0667-02 Rect., w/shield
(1) 154-0672-00 Rect.
(1) 154-0713-04 Rect, Dual Beam
(1) 154-0726-05 Rect., NIB
(2) 154-0731-00 Rect.
(2) 154-0850-01 Rect.
(1) 154-0905-00 Rect.
(1) 154-0910-00 Rect., Spectrum Analyzer
(1) 154-0969-00 Rect. w/shield
(1) 5BGP2 Tek, Circ.
(1) 492 SA CRT w/shield ($70)
(1) SA CRT w/shield, probably 492 style. ($70)

HP CRTs any one for US$35 each, unless marked otherwise.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
(1) 2510-0531 Rect. Mag. CRT assy (HP 8920) NIB ($95)
(1) 5083-0570 Rect. Storage
(1) 5083-1620 NIB
(1) 5083-2372 Rect. (HP180?)
(1) 5083-2511 Rect. Storage (HP 141T) SA NIB ($75)
(1) 5083-3853 Circ. (HP 1220A)
(1) 5083-3976 NIB (HP 182T) ($75)
(1) 5083-4052
(1) 5083-4652 Rect.

Also have new 5ADP1 circular tubes, used in some early scopes.

All will get posted to the Remote Stuff Day page for casual perusing shortly,
along with another 70 or so US/Euro and Japanese standard CRTs, some as cheap as US$5
each. All are clean, at least filament tested or known to work, some are factory new (NIB).
This means you can get them at any time until Stuff Day ends, whether you pick them up
or have them shipped, but first come, first served.

Please email me off list (walter2 -at- sphere.bc.ca) if any interest in these. You can get them now or reserve them for pick up at stuff day. Keep in mind, the cheapest shipping for a full sized CRT is about US$50 in North America, so pick up makes real sense, as it would pay for your gas up here.

All the best,
Walter

Your message woke me up for a test:

My test tips (p6137) do not have an X1 - X10 key. Is it possible, using these test tips, to have this option?

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for this great explanation, and sorry for the detour in this thread.

Another example of RTFM on my behalf...

Re: Tektronix 2467B Auto Measure Faulty?

Chuck Harris <cfharris@...>

The Auto Measure mode only works with CH1 and CH2 inputs.

If both CH1 and CH2 are selected, CH1 takes priority.

In the Auto Measure mode, there is a button all the way to
the right called "CONFIGURE". In the CONFIGURE screen there
is a button all the way to the right called "PROBE"

In the probe configure menu you can select what happens when
the probe ring (identify) is grounded.

The first three options are IDENTIFY, AUTOCONFIGURE, INIT50%.

The last option is STEP. Step allows you to increment through
the preconfigured test setups for the scope..

The operator manual describes this very well, but if you wished,
you could program the test setups in the scope to measure FREQ.

I don't know what the default test setup is, but FREQ seems
reasonable.

Test setups are reached through the diagnostics menu.

Hi all,

this may be relevant to the measurement problem in this thread:

While I was tracing why my 2465B would not switch the sensitivity readout when a 10X probe was connected to Ch1, I stumbled on the following:

When I have both Ch1 and Ch2 active, with only a signal on Ch2, and I press Measure, followed by Frequency, it will give this error because it will try to measure Ch1.

With only Ch2 active and having an input signal, it does read the correct frequency.

And the extra I found today:
The outer ring on all BNC inputs is normally used to switch the readout from 1x to 10x when using a 10x probe with a readout PIN.

However: temporarily grounding the readout ring on any of the 4 channels will trigger an automatic frequency measure of the lowest channel active... This was completely new to me?

BTW, my problem was just a dirty ring on Ch1... ;-)

Un saludo,

Leo

Re: Tektronix 2467B Auto Measure Faulty?

I have no X1, X10 probe. I only have the original P6137 and they do not have this key.

In my case, I have already tested the inputs individually, and both channels do not work (1 and 2).

Thanks.

Thanks for confirmation Chuck.

I bought the IC U500 yesterday, I will wait to receive it and after that I will update the result.

Thank you.

The scope settings section should have you set the scope into
a setting where the waveforms would both be present... but
Tek did make a few mistakes in that area.

The B gate is only active when the B timebase is active...
And the A gate is only active when the A timebase is active.

I took the measurements at the test points suggested by Mr. Chuck.

At test point 42 I only have the indicated waveform when using the Sweep B function. In Swep A I have no waveform. Should there be a signal at this point when Sweep A is selected?

I used my other Scope for measurements.

Thanks in advance.

Mine arrived with an incorrectly-sized line fuse. When I figured that out, I installed the current size fuse and it has worked fine ever since.

Nicely assembled too. They are good ones, verified by Jerry Massengale, (gone from the world now), to do 100MHz before having any
noticeable drop with scope signals going through them.

The price is lower than I can sell the kits for.
