In search of Impeller Fan Fastener For Tek 2465 - Part # 243104001

Phil Wong

I got hold of a Tek 2465 (the one with the Siemens motor), but the inside
fan is cracked.

I could get epoxy and glue it back (suggestion appreciated), but this
fastener piece is in 4-5 small pieces. Could somebody here suggest a place
where I could order one of these?

2247A Readout issue

contact@...

‍Hello,
As shown on the picture attached  one of my Tekscope  2247A givestrouble shooting with no readout display at power on. Only a vertical read outline . Intensity of readout vertical line change with action of front panel pot .

Fortunately all the front panel commands are actives both pushbuttons functions orstep attennuators and voltdivisions OK.
Photo shows trace CH1 and CH2  OK .  Vertical Pos. command OKHorizontal Time base OK No fail in the trigger  led code table (Service Manual )Only the read out that is not displayed full screen .
Supplies voltage corrects within Service Manual  A16 processor board.
Readout position mixer U2415-2414  give correct vertical and horizontal waveform before amplifiers .
But if  Field & Mixer Control U2411  receive data at  R0-R7 inputs theMIX0-1-2-3 outputs  are locked at 0V with no waveforms so the followingReadout position mixers  don't receive waveforms characters to be mixedwith the Hor and Vert ramps .
Replaced U2411 with no effect. . This control latch seems to be activated witha MIX STB CLOCK  pin 11  ( that comes from the READOUT processor U2400) .But there is no wave form in the S. Manual for the kind of pulse to command thisU2411. Seems that it is locked
If anyone has suggestions because this scope is a first hand clean circuitry ?
Thank you for further infos .

On the other hand, here is a pretty good listing. Lots of descriptive details. In addition to the scope there is a cart, lots of plugins and tons of components. All well documented at a pretty reasonable price. I don’t have any interest or knowledge of this sale, but would be interested in buying this if I wasn’t winding down in the hobby.

Re: P6042 Current Probe Repair -- Need new probe cable

snapdiode

The most vexing thing about the P6042 is how fragile the probe is mechanically, a very short drop on a hard surface can permanently damage the transformer inside the probe, and huge DC offset is the result. It's not repairable.

I bought a perfect P6042 almost 10 years ago and after an accidental drop, *balfap*, it was useless.

Through sheer luck I found a complete transformer replacement kit for 23$. This has never happened again!

I also found that one NOS cable assembly, that also never happened again.

The prices for P6042s are all over the place from 100$ to over 1000$. It is unpredictable.

Steve,

The probe tip assembly you have labeled as "Blue--Yellow - 206-0440-00 - 7ea" might actually be 206-0441-00. P/N 206-0440-00 is the part number of the connector/compensation box for the Tektronix P6139A oscilloscope probe.

You might want to be careful about running the O'scope with the cooling fan inoperative. Apparently cooling is critical to keeping some custom ICs from burning out. You can read a horror story about repairing a 2445 with a failed fan on EEVBLOG (from 2014).

well im making sort of progress, when i got the scope q1034 on the z axis board was dead,,i replaced it and it brought up a trace, but something killed the replacement, ive replaced that too but its running well hot and still the r900 hv pot does nothing!,i pulled q1024 and q1034 still ran hot, then pulled q 1043,it then ran cool,so with either q 1024 or q 1043 in place q 1034 gets too hot, still the hv pot does nothing, any ideas where to look?,cheers Paul m3vuv.

Comparing the schematics of A6302 and P6042 the cable looks very similar.
I have several scrapped A6302 so if you think it can be used as a substitute
I can send a cable for the cost of shipping. Contact me off list if you are interested.
