Z Amp transistors, but the rest are OK. My 453A does this on the fastest sweep setting, but only half a major division, and my 7834 not at all. Re: Replacing ceramics on a 485 recap
Ed Breya
I agree - ceramic caps hardly ever fail, especially in ordinary supply bypassing applications. They can get leaky, though, but that hardly matters for bypassing. I can recall only three ceramic cap electrical failures over the last decade or so. One was a HV type in the cathode supply of a scope, and the others were in PLL circuits, where leakage upset operation - one in a Rb standard, and one in a HP8566B. I have seen a few that were cracked and such, but that's mechanical failure due to external issues.

475 Sweep question
donald collie
When I look at a 100Mhz signal, instead of starting at the left of the CRT
graticule, the trace starts at the 2nd major division - 2 divisions to the right of the Left Hand Side. Is this normal? This happens on both A, and B sweeps, at maximum sweep speed only. Your comment will be appreciated. Re: Introducing a new Facebook page
I was wondering if FB performed some sort of advertising gimmick at first where searching was more consumer grade built into the website to build a larger customer database; then changed over to requiring more proprietary paid government, law enforcement or corporate services if not custom API programmed software to be able to mine the data since reminds me of a more advanced human information management system. Interesting how came out around the time the fusion centers were being implemented.
I don't mind personally since the more I study outside the USDA, DHHS, DOT, OSHA, DOI, DHS regulated industries... seems the narcissist, psychopath or sociopath criminal prefer the most isolated with least connections with something to steal from as a victim. DOD and DOJ sure does pander some strange deviant and sodomizing characters and operations. Definitely isn't a six sigma or even lean sigma operation along with their sub jurisdictions from my experience... so I do understand why many don't like being on FB. I prefer being itemized more in my routines for the record in at least a lean sigma environment. That's why I like audit trails also, validated systems and am learning more of the range of EMF's in the EMS thanks to Tektronix systems now days before the straight shooting elders expire and we're left with queer junk trash.
