Re: Questions regarding new group

Actually, I just "joined" the group with my Google account. Apparently but will send emails to my gmail address rather than the email address I've been receiving them but it _may_ send to both.

By "joining" I get access to the photos, files, etc.

I suppose I need to set up a groups.io account and link that with my regular email account.

Thanks,
Barry - N4BUQ

Don't log in as a google account. You've been here long enough that when
Dennis originally set things up we all got an email with account setup
info. Just click a link as I recall. Otherwise, set up an account using
your email address, not a google, facebook, etc. login and things should
happen for you. Until you've set up an account and you're a member, you
won't see much.

Vince.

BTW, if I go to the home page, it displays a message stating I'm not
subscribed to this group (or any groups for that matter). Odd since I get
the messages to my inbox...

Thanks,
Barry - N4BUQ

Glad to see this is moving to a better platform.

I do, however, have a couple of questions about this.

I went to the group.io homepage and can see the tekscopes messages, but
am
not seeing anything for photos or other files. Are those linked from
the
homepage?

At the homepage, it has a login link. Do I need to create a groups.io
membership? I tried logging in as a Google account, but that didn't
seem to
take me back to the tekscopes homepage and clicking back there didn't
expose
any new functionality that I saw so am curious what/if I need to do
anything
else.

Thanks to all who made this possible! I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

greetings and thanks so much to those responsible for finally making the move to groups.io...it will significantly reduce my postings, eliminating my complaints about yahoo :-)
i see the yahoo archives tekscopesarc and tekscopesarc2 contents have not yet moved over. i would expect to find them consolidated into the groups.io files.
is this correct? are these in progress or waiting for paid storage?

I might send you my miraculously unbroken FG504 freq stop knob. It's mechanical design is obviously flawed. What saved it is probably the fact that the motion stop, which normally puts pressure on the knob's weak points, has rounded over and ceases to function. So the varistor reaches the end of it's travel instead.

A polycarbonate or graphene-infused PLA insert would probably work, and instead of a clearance fit a tighter friction fit would be called for. Or just print a new one, they would be a few bucks each from a print service, or a dime or two when printed on your own printer.

Another idea that I’ve tried and was working OK is to have a locking sleeve where the knob has two parts, top part having a tapered slotted sleeve that fits the shaft, and the bottom part having a conical seat that compresses the sleeve. A snap latch interlocks these two, unfortunately for small knobs it’d be a single use part that has to be destroyed for servicing.

Another option is, instead of a permanent latch, to have the bottom part do a twist-lock on the top part. This would allow for a few reassembles before it wears out to require replacement. That may be hard on the smallest of knobs. Probably the smallest knob this would work on is something like the 7000 plugin freestanding adjust knobs like hor/vert offset, trigger level, etc. It’d also need a slow print at 0.1mm or even 0.05mm layer height with a 0.1 or 0.2 nozzle. Regular friction fit knobs work OK printed with a 0.4 nozzle.

The biggest deal would be to have the 3D models of existing parts and then the design of replacements is a separate and a much more limited task and can be easily applied to all the parts of a given class at once.

7A14 Bad first mixer?

Dallas Smith

Hello, I glad we are now at Groups.io. All my Yahoo accounts have been terminated.
Found this on Flea Bay: 282771846825
It looks like the first mixer is bad? The -30 dB gain is turned up to hide it?
What does anyone think?
Still a good buy, can repair the mixer.

I have salvaged TDS 794 from waste bin that have power supply issue: it is blowing fuse while being turned on. Is there any schematic available for this or compatible scope model ?
Appreciate your help.

It appears to be a real 2465B A1 board.

671-0722-08 is for the 2465B p/n
671-0720-08 would be the equivalent 2445B p/n

Could be a failure in the CH1/CH2 channel switch hybrid.
