OT - solder mask

Sorry for the OT, but I know someone here will be able to help.

I am soldering down a QFN SMT package, and I need to cover a trace that runs under the chip and would otherwise short to the exposed pad on the package.
I thought that my GC "red insulating varnish" would do the trick, but that stuff softens when it gets hot. What can I use? Will fingernail polish hold up to soldering temperatures?

Thanks in advance!
