As a owner of a frankenscope I'll put in a few cents.

Some things to consider. Mechanical compatibility, voltages on the various
elements, deflection sensitivity and bandwidth. While I have succeeded in
putting a 54xa jug in a RM31a and it seems to work ok, I have some concerns
about the long term effects.
